Step 10 for Compressed Air Analysis : Chart recorders for intelligent monitoring
A complete set of Compressed Air system monitoring for components such as compressors, dryers, storage tanks, piping would include:
- Flow
- Pressure
- Dew Point
- Temperature
- Humidity
- Particle count
- Electrical power.
Besides that, there will be external 3rd party sensors with analog and digital signals: Pt100, Pt1000, 0/4...20mA, 0-1/10V, pulse, RS485. To overview all of these parameters, a central monitoring system which incorporates PLCs and SCADA is needed, so that the control system can function appropriately (activating relays, alarms, valves etc.).
A chart recorder is able to combine all these sensor readings and integrate them into a seamless, easy to read interface.
